About this expedition
A road trip to one of Brazil’s most enchanting destinations! Departing from Goiânia, Jaraguá, and Goianésia, we will travel to Palmas, Tocantins—the starting point for our 4-day, 3-night expedition through Jalapão. We will explore the region’s attractions in 4x4 vehicles, perfectly suited for the local terrain.
Along the way, we will discover the striking landscapes of the Tocantins Cerrado, passing through Ponte Alta do Tocantins, Mateiros, São Félix do Tocantins, and Taquaruçu. The itinerary includes visits to Pedra Furada, Lagoa do Japonês, the Sussuapara Canyon, Prainha do Rio Novo, the Jalapão Dunes, the Formiga Waterfall, and the *fervedouros* (natural spring pools) of Buritis, Beija-Flor, Bela Vista, and Alecrim.
The experience also offers a glimpse into local history and culture, with a visit to the Rio Novo *Quilombola* community and various artisan workshops. Throughout the journey, we will take in the views of the Espírito Santo, Sacatrapo, and Catedral mountain ranges, alongside unique scenery defined by crystal-clear waters, golden dunes, and the characteristic vegetation of the Cerrado.
For those seeking even more adventure, the itinerary includes optional activities such as rafting, ziplining, river tubing, and sunrise viewing. The program blends nature, culture, relaxation, and excitement—all under the guidance of trained professionals and covered by Rocca’s "Adventure Insurance."
More than just a trip, this expedition is an invitation to experience the power of the waters, the beauty of the landscapes, and the warm hospitality of Jalapão—four days spent connecting with nature and creating unforgettable memories.
This route is led by the Pés no Cerrado team, with a focus on safety, the group's pace and responsible experiences in nature.
