About this expedition
Embark on a holiday road trip to Chapada das Mesas, one of the most enchanting natural destinations in the state of Maranhão. Departing from Goiânia, Jaraguá, and Goianésia, the itinerary leads to Palmas (Tocantins) and continues on to the municipalities of Carolina and Riachão—the primary gateways to the region’s natural wonders.
Over the course of four days, the group will enjoy an adventure-filled experience, connecting with nature while visiting the Portal da Chapada das Mesas, Poço Azul, the Pedra Caída complex, and a series of waterfalls: Santa Bárbara, Santa Paula, Santuário, Setenário, Prata, São Romão, and Itapecuru (also known as the "Twin Waterfalls").
The itinerary features hiking trails, refreshing swims, landscapes defined by towering rock faces and crystal-clear waters, and plenty of time for quiet contemplation. For those seeking an extra thrill, optional activities such as ziplining and kayaking are also available.
The package includes all ground transportation, accommodations at local inns, and the guidance of experienced professionals. It is a comprehensive trip designed for you to discover the natural treasures of Chapada das Mesas, recharge your energy, and create unforgettable memories.
This route is led by the Pés no Cerrado team, with a focus on safety, the group's pace and responsible experiences in nature.
